Trying to download Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus

Saw in today's Naked Security an article with a video on using Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus. I went to the page shown in the video and there was a link to download the tool - https://secure.sophos.com/support/updates/dp/full/sbav_10_sfx.exe. When I clik that link I am taken to a page that asks me to log on to MySophos account. I do so and am brought to a page to "Add Product License Credentials". I don't have any.

Is Sophos Bootable Anti-Virus a free tool?

I tried (after being logged in) to go back to the download link, but I am again brought to the "Add Product License Credentials" page.

I can't seem to get anywhere that allows me to download it.

Thanks

Chris

  • Thanks.

I give seminars at various branches of the Ottawa Public Library on different aspects of computing. One of them is on how to protect your PC. I have slides on free resources and was going to add this to the slide listing "free offline scanners".

I already had Sophos Malware Removal Tool listed on the slide for "free on-demand scanners"

Given what you say, I will probably switch to just point people to the Malware Remediation Toolkit.

    Thanks again!
