Problem with On Acess Scans and SignalR

I havent found anything regarding this on web search and forum search, so here is my Problem: There is a Site called dotabro.com which apparently uses an implementation of SignalR. Basically this Site is for searching 5on5 Games for a game called Dota2 thats running on Steam. After you logged in to the Site via Steamcommunity, and you created a Team, there should appear a Button to search Games called "Find Enemy Team" and a Bar showing your current members of the Team. Now here is the Problem: Me and a friend of mine got Sophos from our University and we cant see the Button/ it appears minuits after idle on the Site and then we cant click it.

So i tried to tun off Firewall / On-Acess Scans in a Virtual Machine and it appears to be a Problem with On-Acess Scan blocking SignalR, since the Button showed up immediatly when On-Acess scans are turned off, Firewall was turned on. Even though it seems to be blocked by On-Acess Scan it doesnt give me and Pop Up warning or asking for taking Measurements whatsoever. Since i dont want to turn off On-acess scans on my real machine, i would like to have clarification if there is actually a Thread from this Site, and if its Save to use this Website a way to unblock this SignalR connection without turning off On-Acess scans completly (even though i dont even know why On-Acess blocks some connection rather then my Firewall and why there is no notification?).

regards

  • HI,

I would suspect that based on it being a browser realted issue it's more than likely to do with the web protection component of Sophos which, by default is also disabled by disabling on-access.

I assume you're running version 10, say if not.....

If you open the SAV interface (SAVMain.exe), then go to:

    Configure - Anti-Virus - Web Protection

Try disabling, download scanning, then retry.

If this helps you can exclude certian websites  from web scanning if you can prove this is the specific problem, under:

    Configure - Anti-Virus - Authorization - Websites.

    Regards,

    Jak
