no tray and no update-config

Hi everyone,

I just installed Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, which is provided by my university. I had already used Sophos earlier and noticed some strange things after installation, which don't seem right. Please note, that Sophos is freshly installed and not yet configured.

- Sophos does not seem to start on PC startup. No tray-icon comes up.

- even after manually starting Sophos, I can only access the Main Window. There is still no Tray-icon. There is no "AlMon.exe" process in the task manager.

- the 'configure'* menu does not include anything to configure updates. I did not figure a way out, to set an update server

* I am using a german version, so the translation of the menu points may be a bit off.

Any hint on what's wrong with my installed version or (more probably) my usage of it is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Scdr,

    you should contact your university's IT-department for support (support for end users through the customer is part of the license agreement). Furthermore without any details how and what you've downloaded and installed it's impossible to tell what went wrong.
