Need full procedure to update definitions on standalone laptops

I manage several classified laptops which must have Sophos Antivirus 9.0.3 definitions updated by "sneakernet", since they are not allowed to connect to a network. Please tell me the Sophos URL where I can go to download the required files, and tell me the procedure to apply on the laptop after I have copied the update files from CDROM.

I searched your knowledge base and forum but I did not find directly applicable instructions.

I have already reviewed that topic and I do not see the required information.
At https://secure.sophos.com/support/updates/windows.html under "option 2, standalone computers" I see downloads for the following:
https://secure.sophos.com/support/updates/dp/full/escw_90_sa_sfx.exe
https://secure.sophos.com/support/updates/dp/full/savw_90_sa_sfx.exe
However, those appear to be complete software packages, not definitions updates. Also, I do not see any dates or definitions version information on that page.

The stand alone-installers do contain a virus database, but they do not contain single pattern update files (.ide).
If you want to keep them up-to-date with current ide-files, you will need an installation of Enterprise Console. EC maintains distributrion folders, these folders contain full versions with the most up-to-date ide files. You can copy this folder to a stick and use it as a local installation source and update source.

you didn't say whether you have SEC/SUM on your network - I assumed you do, if not you should consider installing it (Standalone means by the way: not managed by SEC - but not off-net). Of course you can download the latest IDEs from Download latest virus identity (IDE) files and put them into the %PROGRAMFILES\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus directory.

Depends on how often you want to update definitions (and if you also want to update the engine).

The procedure I outlined in Sophos Standalone (No network) is much simpler and keeps everything (not only the IDEs) up to date. BTW - you can leave out RMS on the initial install (see the article about setup.exe).

Or is there another reason why you want to do it completely "by hand"?
