Updating policy - credentials

Hi,

Could someone confirm what access the updating policy credentials need to have?

- access to the console share only

- access to the client machines and console share

- something entirely different that I've missed

These credentials are used to access the updated files... but do they also need to be able to connect to the machines to run the update task? If so - admin rights?

Hi,
The credentials in the updating policy just need to be able to read files from the update location so AutoUpdate can pull down files to the client before installing them.
You can see that the "SUM" account is given access to the "SophosUpdate" share.
