Sophos Antivirus and hips causing Sage Support sites not to load.

e are using Sophos Data Protection Suite, Current version of Anti-Virus is 10.3.7.527. we receive newsletters fro Sage with links to support articles, however when yoiu click on the links it goes to the address, but nothing is displayedon the page.

Sage claim that this is a problem with Sophos Anti-virus, and to put their website as an exception in the Anti-virus and HIPS policy (see below). Is this a valid thing to do?

Here is the link to Sage's Article regarding this issue https://support.sage.co.uk/default.aspx?page=4028 , I could find no mention of this on the Sophos site.

  • Hello Pillarhouse,

can't say what it could be, if parts of the content (or a redirect) are blocked Sophos should at least log this action. If there's nothing in the logs but the site display correctly after adding the exception then something's not working as it should. Guess you'd then have to contact Sophos' Support though.
