Issue starting Sophos AutoUpdate Service in a disk image

Hello

I've a Windows 2003 Server R2 vDisk image that needs to run in conjunction with Sophos Endpoint Security v10.  I have followed the instructions detailed in Sophos Article ID 28591, but instead of setting the Sophos AutoUpdate Service to Automatic I have left it set as Disabled when I closed the image.  Naturally, the service does not start when the server is booted.  What I would like to acheive is to apply a batch file, vbs script, or alternative, to initiate the service, which would then prompt a Sophos install.  I just want to delay the service by a few minutes while another task runs.  Any ideas how I may achieve this would be greatly received.

Thanks in anticipation.
