Migrate Clients

Hello....we have a two point situation....

Currently we are running 9.5 of Sophos

1. We need to migrate our users to a new SAV server

2. The new SAV server is in a different Windows Domain

When we used Symantec AV, this was easy to do....just a few registry changes to point to the new server. How is this possible with Sophos?

    Hello serverman73,

    the main question is, do you want to keep your current settings (groups, policies) or do you intend to start from scratch? Or is the new server already running and you just want to "move" your clients over?

    Hi,

    So you currently have 2 SEC servers, SERVERA in Domain1, SERVERB in Domain 2?

    SERVERA has a number of managed clients.

    SERVERB has a number of managed clients.

    You wish to move some clients that are currently  pointing to SERVERA to SERVERB?

    Is that the case?

    I'm wondering if my script in this post could be useful:
    /search?q= 8939

    Essentially you need the cac.pem and mrinit.conf file from the new server (SERVERB), using those 2 files and the HAT, you can generate a vbs file which needs to be run on all the clients pointing at SERVERA.  Once the script has run they should be pointing at SERVERB. 

    If you do try this approach I would suggest testing it on one client first.
