Scheduled task for installation on Windows 7 x64 will not start but is created....

Hello,

Our environment has the following configuration:

A Windows 2008 R2 SP1 server with Sophos Enterprise Console version 4.7.0.13

The clients run Windows 7 x64 SP1.

The problem is as follows:

We use a domain account with administrative rights on the machines to install the Sophos client software on the machine. We have set this account in Synchronization Properties of our Workstations group in the Sophos Enterprise Console, and we have selected the box to install Sophos Security automatically with an interval of 5 minutes.

When a new machine is deployed in our environment, the Sophos console shows that there is a new machine and that is it uploading the Sophos Security software. Then after a while the Sophos Console will show an error for the new machine with the following errorcode "ffffffff  Awaiting response from the computer".

If we go to the task manager on de new machine we see that there is a new scheduled task "Sophos_InstTask" generated by the domain account which we have set under "synchronization Properties". So the scheduled task creation part works.

If we start this task manually then the installation runs fine! But we want to have this work automatically.

I have noticed that if I reset the rights of the "c:\windows\tasks" folder while the tasks exists in the task scheduler folder, the task will run spontaneously. This will only happen when the task "Sophos_InstTask" exists. So just resetting the rights of the c:\windows\tasks folder will not resolve the problem, it only triggers the task to run if it exists.

Does anyone have a suggestion why the task wil not execute automatically like it is supposed to be ???

Thanks in advance!
