Encryption recovery options

Hi all,

We have recently upgraded to Enterprise console 5.1 which includes integrated encryption.

I am currently testing the recovery options in the event of a laptop failure or corrupt hard drive.

The documentation states a number of methods of recovery:

- Slaving the hard drive from another machine

- Booting from WinPE boot disk before POA

- Booting from WinPE boot disk after POA

- Accessing data by assigning temporary keys

Of the above, only the option of WinPE boot disk after POA is available to me, as the rest of the documentation involves using Safeguard Management console, which isn't included with the Enterprise console integrated encryption.

Further, booting to a WinPE boot disk after POA doesn't work on all devices. I have tested a number of our HP laptops and it will not work. This is a known issue as seen here and here.

Am I missing something, or am I out of options when it comes to recovery?
