New Server, Old install, can't protect

Hi there,

Our old sophos server recently died, it had been plagued by issues for a while so we decided to create a new management server.

This was successfully completed and can install the client onto a PC that had no interaction with the old enterprise management server however any client that has an existing sophos client installation fails.

The error message is, "The installation could not be started, the system could not find the file specified, etc."

I believe this error message is not actually related though, as the share exists and is accessible and brand new PCs have no issues being "protected".

Is there anyway to force an new sophos client installation over the top or to easily reconfigure all existing clients to accept new server as lord and master?

Hello,
You could try using this tool (http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/116737.aspx) to generate a vbs file, Run that on an existing client as an Administrator, 1 minute later (no feedback is given) the computer should pop up in the new console. The HTA embeds the configuration files, mrinit.conf and cac.pem in the resultant vbs so you only need the one file.
