Stop running scheduled scan

Hi all,

is there a way to stop a scheduled scan on the client that is already running? If you go into the Endpoint client, you can view the details of the scan, but the stop button is greyed out.

Thanks

Regards,

Michael

  • Hello Michael,

usual (my usual :smileywink:) question - why? I can only imagine that you want to stop it because it was started at an "inappropriate" time and affects performance. I think that you (i.e. a local Sophos Administrator) can't stop a scheduled scan is what most sites want (did I say Tamper Protection).

  • Hello Christian,

yes, that's the case. I'll try with Tamper Protection disabled. Maybe this helps.

  • Hello Michael,

sorry for the misleading reply - did not mean it is subject to TP, just that Sophos site admins don't want local ones to interfere.

You didn't answer my question though, therefore I'll hide the next line. :smileywink:

Having said the above - AFAIK stopping the Anti-Virus service should kill the scan.

no problem. Restarting the Anti-Virus service did end the scan.

My statement "that's the case" was referring to your post, saying "...inappropriate time..."

Sorry, I thought that was clear. But obviously, it was not ;-)
