Currently we are using Sophos Enterprise Console with the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control on our clients. We also have Sophos Management Appliance (v3.7.0) for our web filtering. Enterprise is configured on the Web Control Policy to "full Web Control" with the “Appliance Hostname” in place pointing to the SMA. I am having a weird issue with playing a video back from a college portal for a teacher. When I uncheck "Web Control" on the client the video plays just fine. When it is checked the video will not play. I used Wireshark to capture the IP's addresses when the client requests the video and allowed those IP addresses and DNS names on the SMA. Unfortunately the video still will not load. The client is on a policy that is fully open to all categories and download types. I also unchecked "Block potentially unwanted applications" on the SMA and that did not make a difference. I am at a lost as to why this media will not play when web control is checked on. The portal looks to be using Silverlight on the page with the video. The video file types look to be asmx and wmv from the stream itself.
