Access SEC settings from a managed endpoint?

Hi!

My friend told me that he read somewhere about this. This is not the case when you install only the console to a computer, but he read that if an administartor sits down to a managed endpoint, then he can access minimal settings in the SEC. Is this really possible? He told that it is not with RDP or with the console component, but somehow other way, and not with full access to every settings, only a few...

  • Hi,

It sounds like you need to look into Role Based Management (RBA).  Within RBA you can create roles and assign rights to them, you then assign Windows users/groups to roles in order to limit what certian users can action.

You can also create sub-estates (in the same dialog), which is essentially a way of giving for example user1 acccss to a specific set of SEC groups and therefore computers.
