The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.

Hi all,

I've got another problem.

I'm currently testing Sophos to get to know it a little to roll it out on our servers & workstations.

Priviously i've only tested with VMs outside the domain (or ones that got moved into the domain after sophos got installed).

I wanted to try to test the AD discovery method, which seemed to work fine. Currently the domain controller is a single Windows 2000 server But when I try to install Sophos Endpoint on my own laptop (Windows 7), which is in the domain, it gives the following error.

code: 800706fd

description: The installation could not be started: The trust relationship between this workstation and the pirmary domain failed. The computer may need additional co,figuration betfore installation. See knowledgebase article 29287.

Does anyone has any idea of a cause or solution to this problem?

Update: I can manually install Sophos endpoint protection.

    Hello Jroes,

    the domain controller is a single Windows 2000 server

    really 2000? And this is your production domain? You did try to deploy from SEC (where does it run and is it 5.1?), right? Can't say how the Win7 client behaves (and should behave) in this scenario.

    But something else:

    that got moved into the domain after sophos got installed

    I'd recommend installing when the computer is already joined to the domain
