Enterprise Console fails to open.

Not sure if this is the best channel to report this problem, but I have been having an issue with the Enterprise Console I have installed on a 2008R2 server here.

It was working fine yesterday and now when I try and run it I get the http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/1462/7800/1471/8650/118068.aspx error, if I click advanced it reports http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/111898.aspx. I have checked event viewer and nothing is reported. I have also tried to restart the management server service and the SQL service and this has done nothing.

I have also tried to install the Enterprise Console onto a laptop and this gives me the same error with nothing listed in event viewer.

I am assuming all of my clients are ok and they can still get the updates from the server, it’’’’s just the console I cant access.

The server did have some updates yesterday which I am guessing is the cause of the error, but I need to fix it as I need to roll out the client to a couple more workstations.

  • I think i had sort of the same problem in a lab once:
If the SQL logs can't write (disk is full) the Ent.Console didn't open. Making some free space on this disk, fixed the problem for me.
It's a shot in the dark, but worth a check while the logs are being viewed.

    Hope it helps and goodluck.
