Scheduled scans with alternate extentions & exclusions - possible?

Hi all. Searched the forum and KB but didnt come up with an answer to this one.

I'm using SEC 4.7.013

I'd like to create 2 daily scans that use diffrent locations/exclusions. It doesnt seem possible.

For example

Daily Scan 1 = c:\ weekedays

Daily Scan 2 = d:\ weekends

I need to do something like this as the 'scan everything' daily is currently crippling a particualr file server that holds 250GB data on the D drive.

I would also like to do something similar on client machines

Daily Scan = exclude compressed files on weekdays

Daily Scan = all files on weekends

This doesnt seems possible from the console.

  • Hello DarrenW,

    exclude compressed files on weekdays

scanning of archives is set in a scan's configuration, so this should be possible.

To scan only specific locations (i.e. certain parts of the file system) you'd have to configure the scans locally.

(On-demand) extensions and exclusions are global though and apply to all scans.

Depending on your on-access settings you might consider to scan less often (i.e. omit the daily scan).
