Move and upgrade Enterprise Console 4.5 to different server

Can't find descriptions to uninstall our existing Sophos Enterprise Console 4.5.1 including Puremessage and Antivirus from our domain controller with Exchange 2003 and Windows 2003 x32 server standard edition and move it as upgraded version to Sophos Enterprise Console 4.7 on a Windows 2008 R2 x64 server with different name and IP.

Does anybody do this?

    Hello Christof,


    I assume you want to keep your current settings. I don't know about the PureMessage part (you might also want to ask in the Gateway forum) but I can give a some information on SEC.

    First you should migrate SEC to the new server (please see the Enterprise Console migration guide for details). I'm not sure whether moving from a DC to a member server requires some additional changes for the credentials. Then upgrade to 4.7. 

    An alternate approach would be installing the SOPHOS instance on the new server (quit the SEC installer after it has unpacked the installation, install SQL from the sec_47\...\pre-reqs folder and restore the SOPHOS45 database. It should get upgraded when you install 4.7.

    As I said, I can't make any suggestions about PureMessage (only that you have to install SEC first of course).
