Why does windows think my Anti-virus is out of date?

We are on a fixed version of 10.2.9. In the console it says the software is nearing retirement. For reasons of bandwidth i can't update till next week. Sophos says it's up to date with no error messages. However, windows is complaining that my anti-virus is out of date with a nice big red X on all machines.

The question is: Are the endpoints up to date. Check the links in the download chain (the server is downloading updates, the server is sharing them out, the share is up to date, the clients can connect to the share, the clients can download the updates, the clients can install the updates, the clients show the expected product version).
