  • HI,

You can just run the new installer to upgrade.

It doesn't do any harm to backup the databases prior to an upgrade but as the previous databases are retained, new ones created and the data transferred to them it is highly unlikley anything will go wrong to the extent where the data can not be restored.

That being said, for the time it takes to run:

    "C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\DB\Core\backupdb.bat" C:\windows\temp\sophos50.bak (local)\sophos SOPHOS50

    "C:\Program Files\Sophos\Enterprise Console\DB\Core\backupdb.bat" C:\windows\temp\sophospatch.bak (local)\sophos SOPHOSPATCH

    you may as well.

    Hope it helps.
