"sophos client firewall packet filter"

1.)  What is it?

2.)  How do I NOT install it when I push the installations down to the client PC's?

This "sophos client firewall packet filter"...whatever it is...has installed twice on about 30 PC's.  When it installs it shuts down the NIC.  No DHCP requests are allowed, therefore no network access.  Link lights are not affected, lights stay on at the NIC and at the switch.  I uninstalled the Sophos Client Firewall from the machine then reboot and network access is restored.  If I push the installation back to the PC's from the Enterprise Console they seem to work just fine with no issues.  I do not understand why it has only affected 2 machines.  All of the other PC's reboot at night so I don't understand why these particular 2 were affected and yet the others were unaffected.
