Firewall Install fail

doing push installs from SEC to Windows 7 hosts, had one fail to install the firewall.  Found the following in the install logs.

MSI (s) (D8:98) [10:41:23:037]: WIN64DUALFOLDERS: Substitution in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Client Firewall\FirewallPlugin.dll' folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).
MSI (s) (D8:98) [10:41:23:053]: Executing op: ComponentUnregister(ComponentId={001729A9-5584-4568-987F-5C850133DCCC},ProductKey={12C00299-B8B4-40D3-9663-66ABEA3198AB},BinaryType=0,)
MSI (s) (D8:98) [10:41:23:053]: WIN64DUALFOLDERS: Substitution in 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos Client Firewall\SystemProxies.dll' folder had been blocked by the 1 mask argument (the folder pair's iSwapAttrib member = 0).

Any ideas are to the root cause of the failure?

  • Hello chavez243 ,

the snippet looks like a part from the uninstall log. Nevertheless the messages look normal - why do you think they indicate an error?

The reason for a failed install is usually above a line containing Return value 3 so if you could try to find it and post a few preceding lines someone might have an idea..
