if you change this subscription (is it the default Recommended?) to 9.7 Recommended SUM will download and distribute 9.7 to the CID. Subsequently the clients using this subscription will upgrade the next time they check for updates.

If you are asking about the console (4.5 vs. 4.7): You can use the 9.7 subscription with SEC 4.5 although you can only use/control the features already available in 9.5. Is this what you wanted to know?

And that would be the steps to upgrade ?

After launch Sophos Upgrade Advisor (everything is green ) what happening? 

The Upgrade Advisor is for upgrading the console (aka management server) from SEC 4.5 to 4.7. If it's all green you can then run the installer (can't remember the exact details but it's straight forward). The upgrade will not change your subscription though - see chapter 4 of the Upgrade Guide.
