configure sophos update manager

Question

Hello, i use sophos enterprise console 4.5. and update manager is configured for one user name and password from sophos website.

This license we can use for personal PC-s, but i don-t want my colleagues to know the username and password.

How to setup an installation kit without ask me username and password for sophos update, when install de antivirus ?

One way to do it is to create an updating policy with Sophos as primary source. Then export it (sauconf.xml) and include it in an installer package as described. This way your colleagues don't have to enter the credentials.

Hello razvan21,

you mean "home use", i.e. your colleagues will use it on their home-PCs and updates should be from Sophos? Please see how to create a standalone installer package and the links to exportconfig.exe and setup.exe contained therein. You might also want to take a look at Obfuscating the username and password.
