Active Directory Sync is full of machines that no longer exist

It looks like Active Directory Sync is good at importing newly created machines but does not purge machines that are deleted from active directory. PurgeDB does not seem to be a good option because I do want to keep unmanaged machines in the directory -- as long as they really exist.

Is there a way to clear and re-import AD without losing configuration information for my machines?

I'm on Console 4.7.1.13

Thanks,

A

  • Hello Angelo,

computers deleted from AD should end up in the Unassigned group. They are not deleted from SEC as they might just have been moved (perhaps outside the scope of the sync point, i.e. some container not in this tree). It should not be too hard to identify them if you really want to purge them from the database.
If - when deleted from AD - the computers remain in their original group then something's not working as it should.
