After update my endpoints are stopped service sophos anti-virus.

When my enpoints are updated, service sophos are stopped and on-access scanning disabled .

I need to restart computers - the service back up and running .

My endpoints are WinXP and Win7

Anyone know how to solve?

  • Hello Ale,

an update (when there is actually something new, not just a check for an update) usually requires the SAV service to be restarted. This takes only a very short time (and most of the time you don't notice). A major update (where components are replaced) results in an unavailability of the service for several seconds or more, corresponding notification that on-access is disabled and perhaps a notification from WSC.
All services are restarted as soon as this is possible. Thus there is no need to restart the computer or a service manually - or, there should be no need. If indeed on many of your clients the services don't come up again you should contact Support ASAP.
