possible deadlock condition

One of our critical systems locked up with an “Exception: possible deadlock condition” on March 18 2013 at approx. 6:44 pm. The user had to perform a hard restart.  Upon reviewing the system event log, I discovered several errors relating to the SAVOnAccessControl service; in particular, two occur, the system deadlock is captured, and then SAVOnAccessControl continues to have multiple errors, which I assume are a result of the deadlock condition.

The system in question is running Windows 2000 with Sophos 9.5 installed on it.

What might cause this and how can I solve it?

  • Hello KellenMabinga,

please collect the logs using SDU and submit them to Support. Can't say if there is enough evidence left to determine the cause but Support should be bale to give you instructions what to do in case it recurs.
