Problem installing Sophos End Point Protection 10.2 trial

Hi all

Hopefully this is a good place for my question....

I've downloaded the 30-day trial of Sophos End Point Protection 10.2 (including Firewall). I am trying to install this on Windows 7 64-bit which is running within a Virtual Machine (ESX).

I am logging in as a local admin and running the installer. The installer completes and then I am prompted to reboot.

After rebooting, Windows 7 starts up and I get the Windows 7 loading screen, followed by the blue background which normally says "Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to logon" however it just hangs on the blue screen with "Please wait....." (see pic)

I therefore can no longer log in to Windows normally. I have to power off the virtual machine and then go into Safe Mode, log in as a local admin, alter the registry so I can remove programs in Safe Mode, and uninstall the software. Once uninstalled, the VM boots up normally.

Any thoughts ?
