Sophos user rights

HI all,

we are running Sophos Enterprise Console 5.0.0.8 with repository's for the installs for each location.

By deploying "Endpoint Security and Control" software to the clients the wizard is asking for a User for Server Update.

My question is to create a user for the Updates. Can any one help me with this, to give a windows AD user the right for that?

PS. my Console is running not in english language, as i remmber there is a possibility to start the console in english.

Hope you can help my

Thanks

  • Hello homer_mg,

to start the console in english

use Control Panel->Region and Language and set the locale to English.

the wizard is asking for a User for Server Update [...] My question is to create a user for the Updates

I'm not sure with which account you need help. Could you post a screenshot where it asks for the user (need not be in English)?

  • To switch languages, as a bit of a hack, under:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Enterprise Console\

there are the language dll files: RsJpn.dll, RsIta.dll, RsFra.dll, etc..

You could just switch the dll files for the language you want, then launch SEC.

The account prompted for when running setup, just needs read access to the CID being deployed from.  This can be the same account in the updating policy.

Probably not totally recommended but it does work. :smileyhappy:
