Excluding SVN files copied from a server?

Hi,

I have a number of developers who copy code from a server to their local machines.  With Sophos scanning on read it is taking 4 times longer to get the code down.

Will an adding exclusion work along these lines:

svn://svn-server/svn_repo/

If not, will I have to create a separate AV policy for the developers with the 'Exclude Remote Files' option ticked?
