Disable Endpoint to install software?

Hi all,

I am the system admin for our organization and we are running Sophos as our network-wide AV. I have a client PC on which we are trying to install AutoCAD. When attempting to run the self-extractor, nothing happens. Even the AutoDesk guys are at a loss. The suspicion is that the Sophos client is stopping it.

We don't know. But we need to test it.

How can I temporarily disable all Sophos activity on this one PC so I can retry the software install? Thanks!

If anything I'd assume it would be the on-access component that you'd need to disable, or you can simply stop the system services themselves.

Indeed. I disabled the Sophos Anti Virus Service to no avail. I then just flat out uninstalled it. Well, still no luck, so Sophos isn't the problem. Thanks, all.
