Update server hardware failure - options? SESAC 9.5

Hi,

We have up to 150 clients, mostly Windows XP, running Endpoint Security and Control 9.5. The server that housed the management console and delivered the updates suffered a hardware failure so the clients are not able to update and I have no access to the old configuration/files.

What are my options for reconnecting them to a central server? Can I build a new server and then distribute the new name/IP address to the clients? Or must I build the same version on the same server address? Can I update to v10 at the same time?

Thanks

  • Thanks, lots of good information here. Unless I can get a rare power supply part I have no backup at all, so I am trying to install SEC5.0 on a new server and reprotect the computers with the recommended 9.5.

I can see all my computers and groups but cannot reprotect them as I constantly get update errors (80040410, 80040401 and 80040404) during the download process. I can see the warehouse folder filling with files during the download but it fails at the end - probably should open a new thread.
