Sophos fails to update or install correctly Win 7 64bit pc

I am having a hit and miss problem. I install Sophos from our server, sometimes it installs completly but then fails to update. Other times after a reinstall, I only get a partial install, which the progress windows shows all loading, and installing but really doesn't. This happens every now and then, I am using a HP SFF 8100 Win 7 pro sp1 i5 processor 4gb of ram. I can use another pc(laptop or sff) and use the same connection and set up with no problems installing Sophos from our server, Any ideas are welcome. I have even used the Sophos provided program remover/uninstaller and doing a clean install after with no success. Thanks for your time in this matter.

    Hello AKMO1,

    trial and error is probably not the best way to solve this problem. Do I understand correctly that only one client is affected?

    As the complete install actually is an install of AutoUpdate which then with the first update downloads the required components to complete the installation. Are you installing by running setup.exe from the CID? And sometimes the install finished, all components (check with the GUI or Control Panel/Programs) are available and one of the next updates fails?

    So please describe the steps and outcome in detail - how the install is done, whether you can open the GUI and if which components are shown or listed under View product information. Also if a subsequent update fails the updating log and the ALUpdate log (in %ProgramData%\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Logs) might give a hint.
