Dabase mirror issues Enterprise 4.5

I am currently setting up DRP hot site for my servers.

I have mirrored the Sophos SQL2005 database  to a server at the DRPsite.

SQL Server1 = Original site

SQL Server 2 = DRP site

When I failover Server 1 to server 2 , the management console will not work.

How do I tell the management console that if SQL server 1 is down, then just go to SQL server 2.

Is it configured in the registry?

  • HI,

I don't think is is supported, Sophos supports a clustered SQL instance but it is a 1-1 mapping between management service and database instance.

Having said that, you could try setting the "Failover Partner " option in the connection string, i.e. in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\[Wow6432Node]\Sophos\EE\Management Tools \DatabaseConnectionMS

    but I've not tried

If there is a replica of a SOPHOS45 database and you update the connection string and the account the management service is connecting to the database has the necessary rights (should get these by being a member of the "Sophos DB Admins" windows group) you should be able to point the management service at any database.

    Regards,

    Jak
