Savservice.exe high cpu in Citrix Server

We are running Windows 2008 Citrix Server

OS: Windows 2008  (64)

CPU – 2

RAM-12 GB

Citrix:  Xenaqpp 6.5

What we are noticing is that Savservice.exe is spiking up the CPU to 30%-70%

We followed the Citrix recommendation from this article - http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX127030

But we are still getting the high CPU utilization.

In following Sophos forum the recommendation was to disable live protection. But is that wise?

/search?q= 11471

What can we do so savservice does not take up so much CPU?

  • Hi,

What is the Citrix server being used for, what services does it provide?

Does the high CPU co-incide with people browsing the web for example.  Web scanning could be one cause, if there are 50 instances of IE open for example, SAVService will be sent a lot of work to do.

Could web-scanning be the cause?  Could you temporarily turn off web scanning?

I assume you've eliminated a scan taking place?

    Regards,

    Jak
