Sophos Anti-Virus reports that it is out of date in Windows 7 Action Center. I have verified the clients are indeed properly pulling updates from our server and are up-to-date using the guidelines listed in this knowledgebase article: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/58307.aspx
Since I am confident Sophos is up-to-date but is not reporting to Windows 7 Action Center properly, simply disabling the alert in Windows 7 Action Center is a viable option for most of our end-users. However, now two of our users need to connect to a remote site via Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway. When they attempt to connect via UAG they are placed in a quarantine because the antivirus software on their computer is reported as being out of date. This is a problem for us.
As a test, I have tried rolling back the Sophos Anti-Virus client from 10.0.8 to 9.7.7 in hopes that an earlier version may properly report its status to Windows. Unfortunately, the problem seems to persist. Action Center still indicates Sophos is out of date, and the computers are still quarantined by UAG.
Are there any known solutions or workarounds for this particular trouble?
Thanks!
