In our organization I set up some basic Data control policy- Financial information( Bank, Credit card etc) , Personal Identification. When use try to copy file to USB drive , or send as email attachment ( Web mail) it triggers the alert.
I noticing following things
1) When user access these files from our File server ( Network Appliance)and just open the file it doesn’’’’t trigger any alert.
2) Interestingly if the same file is encrypted and password protected and users just open the file from file server ( not transferring or sending it to someone) it will trigger an alert.
I couldn’’’’t find any policy where it will trigger alert just accessing file from file server but I like this alert.
Can we set up data control policy so even if file is not encrypted it will still trigger an alert as long as it fall under the data control policy I put in place?
