Sophos update help needed

Dear All,

I have a question regards to my Sophos update. Currently, we have a folder called ESXP under the company file server, basically just click the setup file that will install Sophos anti-virus which is version 7. The install page will required the user's name and password for server update (link to management console). I'm a bit confused which update software or program that I can download to replace the ESXP folder and that contains new anti-virus version 9 and same formate of the installation.

Anyone could help!!

Brian

  • Hi,

I'll assume that you are running Sophos Enterprise Console (SEC) 4.x on the Sophos managment server and that Sophos Update Manager (SUM) on that machine is creating the distribution points, one being the ESXP folder you mention.  So, to get SAV 9, you would need to either change your subscription in SEC to subscribe to it, or ensure that SUM is distributing a distribution location for that version to the same file server.

You really need to check in SEC to see the list of "Bootrap locations", to see if you can find a distribution location with SAV 9 in it.  If not you'll need to configure SUM which can be done from within SEC.
