Citrix and Sophos

Hi there,

We're currently running a Citrix XenApp environment and recently updated our AV from MS Forefront to Sophos Endpoint Security and Control 9.5.  Unfortunately, since the upgrade, we have been experiencing a number of issues, which may be due to Sophos.

These problems are :

1.  Server Hangs at Grey Screen when logging on :  When users or admins attempt to logon, the logon process stalls at a grey screen after username and password has been submitted.  However, the server is responsive in other way such as ping, acecssing event viewer remotely etc.  There are no errors in the Windows event logs and the only solution is to reboot the server.

We located and following article and have applied the hotfix, but to no avail. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177078

2. More recently , we have also notice some IRPStackSize is too small errors.  We've never seen them before, and looking at some articles, it seems to relate to Anti Virus.  Event ID 2011 - Source Srv, The server's configuration parameter "irpstacksize" is too small for the server to use a local device. Please increase the value of this parameter.

Any suggestions on how to fix these issues would be much appreciated. Also would like to know how people are finding running Sophos on a Citrix XenApp platform.

Cheers.

  • Anyone have an update on this? I've just implemente

d a 5.4 upgrade at a client and all users can access the site, except for one, with 30 people in it, which is really bizarre. I've pretty much tried all of the fixes above.

This site accesses the internal WI through a bluecoat, but so does another without issue. Don't know if that helps things. Browser is primarily IE7, with better behaviour on IE8, but still not absolutely consistent. OS is XP SP3.
