100+ machines simultaneously went offline in console

This morning I noticed our "connected" machines number drastically lower roughly about 200 machines from what it should be.

While investigating I noticed 119 machines dropped from the sophos console (showing up red) at 11/27/12 7:48PM PST all at the same time. All of these machines are set to update every 10 minutes so they should be been fine at 7:38PM...

I think there may be more "groups" of machines that fell off as well, but we are still trying to figure out what happened.

Has anyone else noticed this?

we are currently sitting at around 600~ connected and we usually hover in the high 800 range.

Trying to get a hold of Sophos at the moment...

  • Attempted to reinstall Sophos to 3 of the affected machines from the console and the installation fails with this error.

  • Hello brotatochip,

sounds like an RMS issue. I suggest you check the Router logs on the disconnected clients, as well as the ClientMRInit logs (system %TEMP%) for the new installs. Are the any firewalls (which could perhaps have been changed)?
