Data Control missing on client PC

I have at least one laptop in our organization that I know of that is missing the Data Control section on the endpoint.

I had used a remote assistance session to help this user with another problem (Microsoft Office related).  So while connected I wanted to make sure the Sophos Endpoint was updated correctly.  We recently upgraded to EC 5.2 and Endpoint 10.2.

At first both the Device and Data Control section were missing if I opened up the Sophos Endpoint Security and Control Shield in the system tray.

I checked the EC and the laptop status was "Differs From Policy".  So I performed a "Comply with all Group Policies".  After that was successful, I checked the laptops Endpoint Security and Control and the Device Control section finally appeared.  But the Data Control section is still missing on the laptop.

So from the EC, I re-protected the laptop so it would re-install the Sophos client - but the Data Control is still missing.

Is this a known issue or bug?  Any ideas and suggestions to try for a fix.

Also, there was no report that these 2 modules were missing.  So now I wonder how many other workstations I have where the device and/or data control piece are missing?

    I suggest you contact Support if it is persistent. You could try to completely uninstall before reprotecting but I can't say whether it would help.

    Occasionally I see clients where the scanning column for DataCtrl/DevCtrl is blank (neither Active nor Inactive). Normally the component is there (and most of the time working) but there's a problem with the infrastructure which involves the Sophos Agent service - and usually the problem doesn't persist across reboots. Restarting the said service results in normal operation. Might be a timing problem/race condition and specific to XP.
