Web Protection error (incompatible program)

We're using the Microsoft TMG Client on our workstations and as this table states Sophos Web Protection isn't compatible with the TMG Client: http://www.sophos.com/de-de/support/knowledgebase/116241.aspx

What does this mean?

According to the link above Web Protection will be disabled to avoid any problems, but on our clients it's still active and working (http://www.sophos.com/de-de/support/knowledgebase/111224.aspx).

I also do not want to disable Web Protection as our TMG doesn't do any AV filtering and mobile users would be unprotected.

  • Hi Christian,

we do get the 0xa0580006 error in the Enterprise Console and we're also receiving notification emails which mention the web protection error, however web protection does work and blocks sopohstest.com. It's also still enabled in the settings of the Sophos Endpoint Protection client.

    Here's a screenshot (in german):

The question now is, does Web Protection really work? And if so, how do we get rid of all those errors?

    Best regards,

    Max
