Transfer Sophos Server

Hi,

Please advice us for this error could not update all client in new sophos server.

Sernario:

1.  windows Server 2003 old server of sophos is a member of NT domain.

2. windows Server 2012 new server of sophos is a Workgroup ( 2012 cannot joined to domain).

3. They are same computerName and IP address.

4. Cannot paused a policy in console.

5. They are deferent password.

Any help?

  • Migrating Enterprise Console to a new server can be a bit tricky (i.e. a pain in the backside) but there is a guide available for the process at http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/28276.aspx - unfortunately this guide assumes both servers are on the same domain (which yours aren't), and both have different IP addresses.  It may be a bit tricky if you can't have them both connected at the same time due to this, but it should provide a fairly decent reference to get started.  (I'll assume you have your reasons for re-using the IP address and computer name).

    If you have the ability to take snapshots of the server(s) beforehand, it'll be worth doing so in case things don't go according to plan :-|
