Hi, I have Endpoint Security and Controll. For some reason, when ever  I try to update, I get the mesage "could not contact server"

  • ....interesting,  if you open up a command window (start - run and type "cmd.exe") and then type:

    ping DUCNT30

do you get a response?  You should get a message similar to:

    Reply from <address>: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64

    If you get:

"Ping request could not find host DUCNT30 . Please check the name and try again. "
it would suggest that you either have a resolution issue, i.e. the machine that is failing to update can't find a machine by the name of DUCNT30, or DUCNT30 is currentlyturned off.

Do you know which machine is DUCNT30 on the network ?  Do you know it to be on?

If you do, do you know it's IP address?

If you can get to that machine and run:
    ipconfig /all

from a command prompt it will be interesting to know the IP address.  So you can try and ping that address from the failing client.

    Regards,

    Jak
