We have had extremely slow internet access at our school for the last 2 weeks or so. We have been unsure of the cause of the problem.
Today I logged on to our OpenDNS dashboard and check the stats for our connection.
I noticed that we had 1000's of requests for various .sophosxl.net addresses.
For example:
.p.03.s.sophosxl.net - 552 requests
.p.02.s.sophosxl.net - 493 requests
1.trarengr-5s204.pyvragf1.tbbtyr.pb.hx.u.03.s.sophosxl.net - 382 requests.
The list goes on and on, with several thousand requests in total. It is seeming likley that this is the cause of our slow internet connection.
Sophos is setup to download updates to the server running the Enterprise Console and the clients are set to request updates from the server, not from the internet.
Any ideas what I can look at to stop this problem? I am waiting for a response from Sophos tech support but I thought I would ask here as well.
