Windows 7 64 bit problem

Hello Jo,

did the install run on the client (i.e. are there any Sophos components installed now)? I've seen cases where the install task is created but never seems to start. This was (partly) discussed in  AV client push scheduled task doesn't run in Windows 7. I don't know of a general solution so far (I had success with turning off UAC for the install user) - as other methods for deployment are available I think most of us haven't bothered to find it.

UAC is disabled (default here). Maybe I can try to run it manually on the client itself?

Protect Computers is just one way to install the software. Running the install from the client (perhaps with the same install string - I think it is mentioned in the thread) is equally "correct".

Yes, when I install it locally it works for 2 of the 3 windows 7 machines. Is there a way to do this remotely via psexec?

I assume you are using the install string with parameters from the command line (not the interactive setup) - or did you try to create and run a task? Contrary to the saying 2 out of 3 is in this case rather bad and either way you should find out why it fails. It will likely fail with psexec too. Is there any log in the system temp or the user's temp directory?

the third pc with a problem is an updating problem. I'll have a look at it tomorrom morning. I've treid psexec, but I get an error message. I took a screenshot.

Sorry, Jo, I'm a little bit dense today. psexec doesn't "browse" to the CID and while setup.exe can be started this way it doesn't "find" the files necessary to run. See here for an example.
