Rolling out Win7. Had Sophos on image, machines in console showing not protected....HELP

Hi there,

I created my Win 7 image with the installer from server. Ran the Win7 sysprep tool etc etc and the deployment has been peachy.

BUT, my machines are not checking into the console (showing as not protected). When I am on the local machine, if I run the updater, it correctly goes out to my internal server for updates.

Anyway, I can get these machines as showing protected versus having to push the installer out again via the console?

Hello MP,
did you read and follow Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+: incorporating current versions in a disk image, including for use with cloned virtual machines?
Did the template computer report to SEC, is there perhaps one client which could be one of the imaged computers and seems to constantly change its name and IP.? If so, please see Computers in Enterprise Console appear to update the same record.

Thanks for getting back to me.
That's a big NO for seeing\reading that article before I imaged the machines. Ugh, my f-up entirely.
Do you have any ideas or perhaps should I call tech support?

Hello Michael,
did you check whether the second article I've mentioned applies - i.e. there is one managed computer which appears to constantly change its attributes? The article describes the steps - the tricky part is to automate them a schedule them so that they don't collide with an update. I had to do something similar but I'd rather not make the details public (for undisclosed reasons :smileylol:).
