Computer cannot join to domain if sophos firewall is installed

Hi,

I would like to report an issue we have that when Sophos is installed, we cannot join computers to the domain.

We get the error "Path not found or Network not found."

What will be our solution for this? what workaround can be done so we can add the computer to a domain.

    Hello Tedz,

    first of all, I'd deploy Sophos after the computer is joined to the domain (this won't help with the firewall but gives less headaches).

    In order to be able to join and work in the domain you usually have to permit NetBIOS access to (at least) the servers hosting the required shares (and perhaps configure additional rules as necessary). As the Policy Setup Guide says: Caution: You must configure the firewall policy before use. Deploying an unmodified default policy to a group via Enterprise Console will cause problems with network communications.
