SUM downstream servers won't update

Hi again all,

Recently swapped in a few new servers at our branches and trying to set them back up as SUM downstream servers is not working. All the current servers that are still working fine have updated to version 1.1.1.141 where the new ones don't seem to be able to get off 1.0.3.122. Do I maybe need to reinstall SUM with a newer version installer?

The main errors I am getting are below:

80040404 - Threat detection data update failed

80040406 - Delivery failed for software subscription....Access to the source update location is denied or otherwise unavailable

80040401 - Software update failed

Any help would be greatly appreciated :smileywink:

Edit: I have tried the process described in this support article a few times now with no change in the results. The same servers remain unable to be updated.

    If anyone has any ideas, they would be really appreciated. Nothing has changed since the last time we setup these servers as downstream SUMs except that this time they will not update :smileymad:.

    Hello Craig,

    where did you the SUM on the downstream servers install from? Did you use the \\server\SUMInstallSet share? And are they listed as Update Managers in SEC? Or do I misunderstand your setup? Where should these servers get their updates from?

    Thanks Sandy, will do.

    QC, yes I installed SUM the normal way by the SUMInstallSet share and they came up in the console as SUMs which I configured the same as before. They protect fine with end point, its just SUM that won't update.

    I think I'll just lodge a support case as the knowledge base.
