noupdateinprogress error

I'm having a problem with a pc that when I want to reinstall Sophos, I get the error message: noupdateinprogress. What can I do?

Won't suggest a specific site here, you'll find it with a search, depends whom you trust. If you don't dislike guys with sunglasses and helmets - they have it :smileywink:
Windows has replaced this tool with one of the FixIt line (see Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled) - haven't tried it yet but if you are more confident using an official tool you might wnt to give this one a try.

It's not over yet :(

When I try to install it using the console I'm getting "a runtime error occurred".

This error is reported to the console? Any useful logs on the machine? Maybe this error?
